After a too-long absence from comic book shelves, Virgil Hawkins, a.k.a. Static, made his triumphant return in the pages of this year's "DC K.O.: The Kids are All Fight!" In "New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident", we were given a taste of what the DC universe could look like if Dakota's favorite son were to get back in the mix, and why he's been missing for so long.

Thanks to a grass-roots movement led by Black voices, the book's creators, comic book shops, and loyal fans, "The Dakota Incident" sold out of its first printing. DC Comics saw what we wanted and is now giving us more Static!

Having read those books, you know that Virgil is a bit older, and a bit wiser. He's no longer a teen - as such, he's joining the Titans in Issue 38, and we are enormously excited to bring you a very special variant to celebrate the occasion.
